My Grandmother had a home in Sandwich. Spent a lot of time there in the 60’s-70’s. The bridge approach and crossing remind me of us three shaved head kids at the peak of over excitement. It was lots of fun….for us anyway. Air out the house, mow the lawn and cut the brush etc. before any beach trips. The area had little to no new development. Thank you for sharing. 😊

Like the East Village in Manhattan, the culture is all different today. There isn't a house under a million in town. When the young artists with no money are squeezed out, the place isn't nearly as interesting. I guess it's not the place, but the time I miss.

I think it's Boothbay Harbor. Vacationed there as a kid during a few summers my folks couldn't find a cottage on the Cape. There's a sign for the schooner museum that appears in a few shots. It would make sense with the Seguin on loan from Bath (at the start of the footage), which is further south.

DEFINITELY NOT Boston. Just from looking I can tell that it is not Boston. I was trying to make out the license plates, but couldn't quite get it. I could tell that the whatever the sate, the name was very short. But then I saw an Altes Beer truck. Altes was a local lager brewed in DETROIT. I think the state identified on the license plates is "Mich." (for Michigan). I also noticed a taxi with the name Shores, so I looked it up and there is still a Shores taxi service in Detroit - serving mostly travel to and from the Detroit airport.

I wonder if it's Detroit. It looks like the sign that comes into view around 3:40 on the right says "US 112" and "Michigan" above it (although it's blurry). It doesn't quite look like Boston to me.

US Highway 112 started in Detroit. Also the Strohs Beer sign on the bus definitely points to Detroit for this video.

Probably making $0.12 an hour and losing one finger per year. That looks rough.

I turned 21 in 1976

It is, in a way, rather ironic that I happened to stumble upon this video whilst aimlessly browsing in the wee small hours of the morning, as is my want. I am currently taking a graduate-level course on the Great Depression in the United States; this footage is priceless, offering a precious glimpse, however brief, into the complicated public lives of Chicago denizens during those trying times. Watching it, one can see both the raw struggles and formidable perseverance of people facing real hardship. I applaud you for posting this footage for the world of RUclips to see! - Ryan

From what I've read in the lurp books this was one of the schools where you'd go out on actual patrol for graduation right? And some did get k.i.a. on the graduation mission or w.i.a. if I remember correctly.

My uncle went to this school, he served with D co 75 infantry.

Just think these guys all old men now in our communities.. I hope I’ve met them without knowing and gave them respect
